Introducing The Green Range for a more sustainable fire trade

Throughout the supply chain, businesses can make a positive impact on people and the planet. But sustainability doesn’t need to come at an expense. Now a key factor in end users’ purchase decisions, it can actually enhance businesses’ positions in the market.

At CheckFire, we’re committed to our environmental responsibilities. And a significant step towards these is launching The Green Range. Here, we explain what this is and what’s to come, as well as how this range can make a wider sustainable impact throughout the fire trade.

What is The Green Range?

It’s imperative the fire trade remains conscious and proactive regarding sustainability in the sector. Not only due to interest at a national level, with new regulations introduced over time, but also to better meet end users’ needs. The Green Range exists to deliver access to sustainable products and services, which:

  • Helps stockists add value to business by being part of a full-circle, environmentally conscious supply chain customers want;
  • Pushes CheckFire closer to meeting our sustainability objectives without compromising the high performance our brands are known for;
  • And makes a wider positive impact by contributing to a greener environment, or at the very least, doing minimal harm to the planet.

Services and supplies that meet these environmental objectives will be made available throughout the rest of the year, forming The Green Range. Simply look for the green crosshair across our products and services to know they belong to The Green Range.

First in The Green Range: our fire extinguisher recycling service

Our first service that’s part of The Green Range is a dedicated fire extinguisher recycling service for CheckFire trade customers. As well as saving companies time and hassle by collecting, dismantling, and processing fire extinguishers, our sustainable service contributes to a more circular supply chain, which is better for the planet. And since fire extinguishers are classed as hazardous waste, staying completely compliant in the disposal of units is good for business. To save even more time and sorting, we also recycle fire extinguisher cardboard packaging.

The Green Range impact

With sustainable values shaping end user decisions, more fire trade suppliers understand how eco-conscious products and services, such as those in The Green Range, can add value to their business. Recent data from IBM shows that 76% of business executives say ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives are central to business strategies. At CheckFire, we’ve seen the growing need for recycling services and the positive impact it has first-hand: we recycle between 25,000 to 30,000 fire extinguishers safely every month. Almost all components of a unit can be used again, supporting infrastructure overseas.

Looking at consumer choices, two-thirds of those surveyed say environmental sustainability (68%) and social responsibility (65%) are very or extremely important to them, with six out of ten consumers saying at least half of their purchases were branded with these qualities.

The future of sustainable fire safety

It is possible for fire trade businesses to maximise success and contribute to a more sustainable supply chain. For CheckFire, this is only the beginning. As well as our recycling service, we have exciting new product developments boasting eco-conscious credentials coming very soon to The Green Range.
