CheckFire’s sustainability pledge and environmental efforts

CheckFire is a fire trade supplier committed to product innovation, as well as raising awareness around fire safety legislation and supporting customers in every way possible. However, we’re also conscious of the importance of sustainability and are extremely committed to our environmental responsibilities. We’re keen to ensure that in meeting our environmental targets, we’re passing on environmentally responsible products and ways of working to you, our customers.

Here, we highlight our behind-the-scenes ongoing work to ensure CheckFire remains as environmentally friendly as possible, as well as introduce our most innovative products that are mindful of the environment.

Prioritising product innovation

Our products are market-leading and high-performing. But it doesn’t end there for us. We want to reassure all our customers that for businesses making efforts to strengthen their eco credentials, we’re taking big steps to improve how our products match up to environmental expectations. Provision of fire safety equipment isn’t something that can be compromised and, for this reason, we’ve developed our innovative CommanderEDGE EnviroFoam fire extinguisher to support businesses looking to improve their sustainability efforts.

A market-leading fire extinguisher, the six-litre EnviroFoam offers an unrivalled 27A 183B fire rating and is Kitemarked to BS EN3, which further strengthens its assurance of its dependable design and manufacture. It’s been designed to meet the requirements of the Milieukeur standard, a certification for environmental quality for the life cycle of a product. But what makes this fire extinguisher so impressive is its low fluorine content (less than 0.04%), which ensures the foam is less harmful to the environment than regular foams.

EnviroFoam is suitable for settings at risk of Class A (combustible materials) and Class B (flammable liquids) fires, including office, retail spaces, hospitals and supermarkets.

We’ve also recently added the CommanderEDGE Water Mist fire extinguisher to our market-leading range. This innovative, high-performance product is fully Kitemarked, has a 13A 25F fire rating and is suitable for use on Class A (combustible materials) and Class F (cooking oils and fats) fires.

Thanks to the additive-free, demineralised water extinguishing medium, the water mist fire extinguisher offers an environmentally friendly firefighting solution. When extinguished, the fine spray of water leaves less residue than other fire extinguisher types. This results in an easy clean up and makes this fire extinguisher suitable for environments such as hospitals, offices, commercial kitchens and historical buildings such as churches and museums.

Both the EnviroFoam and Water Mist fire extinguishers from CommanderEDGE serve as proof that you don’t have to compromise on efficacy to achieve a more eco-friendly product. By making eco-conscious product choices, you can open new markets and help your customers achieve their sustainability targets, all the while providing superior products.

We’ve gone paperless

In an attempt to further reduce waste and our carbon footprint, we’re adapting processes to eliminate paper wherever we can. CheckFire customers can now expect all invoices and other confirmation notices to be sent digitally, while traditional customer visits to meet our sales team can be replaced with virtual, online meetings if requested. This flexibility has enabled us to remain supportive to all our customers throughout every phase of the pandemic and the accompanying government guidelines.

What’s more, we launched the CheckFire product brochure exclusively via a digital download – and your feedback and consistent downloads have helped towards its huge success. If you’ve yet to, download the brochure for access to a huge range of high-performing fire extinguishers and ancillary products from market-leading brands Commander, CommanderEDGE and Contempo. We also have a brand-new Fire Safety Signs flyer available for download which provides all the details you need on our full range of fire safety signs.

We’ll continue to look for ways to ensure CheckFire and, as a result, our customers remain sustainable and work in a way that’s mindful of the environment. If you’d like further information about how we can work together to meet fire safety requirements in a way that’s environmentally responsible, get in touch and a member of our team will be happy to discuss.
