British Standards provides specific guidance on Class A, Class B and Class F fire risk areas and the number of fire extinguishers needed depending on the size of the environment. Our handy fire extinguisher calculator is designed to assist you with how many fire extinguishers are required to fight Class A, Class B and Class F fire risks on your premises as advised in BS 5306*.
If the size of your room is smaller than 400m2 you are required by law to have at least 2 13A rating fire extinguishers within your floor space.
If your maximum area of exposed Class B (m2) exceeds 4.66m2 please get in touch with us.
Containers more than 2m but less than 20m are considered as forming a divided group and the greater surface area of either the largest container or one-third the aggregate surface area of all the containers in the group should be used to calculate minimum requirements.
Special hazards need consideration. The risk of spill or running fires should be taken into consideration. Please contact us for further assistance.
If your maximum area of exposed Class F (m2) exceeds 0.4m2 please get in touch with us. For any area greater than 0.4m2 a fixed extinguishing system needs to be provided.
