Industry & Trade

What industries do we trade to and our responsibilities.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 is the overarching legislation for fire safety in commercial premises, and defines the ‘responsible person’ in any workplace as the employer (should the workplace be under their control), and where the premises is not a workplace, this is the occupier or owner. The Order requires that the ‘responsible person’ provides and maintains satisfactory fire precautions.

The responsible person must undertake general fire precautions including measures to reduce the risk of fire, such as a fire risk assessment, as well as implementing measures for fire detection, warning and firefighting equipment, such as installing fire alarms and testing them regularly, and servicing your fire extinguishers annually.
